Competitive Joint Funding Partnership Programme
Competitive Joint Funding Partnership Programmes are co-funded initiatives undertaken in collaboration with a funding agency, charity, philanthropic organisation, Higher Education Institute or company. These programmes typically involve issuing a competitive call for proposals to the research community. Depending on the nature of the joint funding programme, the call may be in specific thematic areas and may be managed as a separate thematic strand within an existing SFI funding programme.
Examples of currently active and previous partnership programmes include:
- SFI–Pfizer Bio therapeutics Innovation Award Programme
- US-Ireland R&D Partnership Programme
- SFI-HRB-Wellcome Trust Biomedical Research Partnership
- EMBO-SFI Workshops Partnership
For partnerships run through the Competitive Joint Funding Partnership Programme, SFI will typically fund up to 50% of programme/thematic strand budget; the exact amount will be influenced by the strategic nature of the collaboration and the potential for enhanced delivery of SFI’s agenda.
SFI welcomes new opportunities for jointly funded programmes. If you are interested in partnering with SFI in this way, please contact partnerships@sfi.ie to discuss.
