The Education Centre offers a wide range of courses based in the beautiful and diverse surroundings of Killarney National Park. The Primary School Nature Day Programme encourages children to learn about their environment in a fun and very "hands-on" interactive way. The activities are primarily woodland based and include pond-dipping, pooters, scavenger hunts, mammal traps and plenty of games.

Killarney National Park Education Centre runs a variety of programmes for Primary Schools.

The Primary School Nature Day and Science & Maths in Nature Day have both become very popular school tours with both teachers and pupils alike.

Both days are action-packed, hands-on, educational experiences delivered by experienced, garda vetted staff in the heart of Ireland’s premier National Park. And all the activities are linked to the SESE programme for primary schools.

Killarney National Park Education Centre is a designated Discover Primary Science & Maths Centre so schools participating in the DPSM awards can use their visit to help achieve their Award.

The cost of the both Primary School Days is only €11 per child.
