On March 15th Science Foundation Ireland, in partnership with Fraunhofer Gesellschaft hosted a visit by Richard Bruton, Minister for Education and Skills to the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer (IAP) Research in Potsdam.

The visit, which was part of the Minister’s official St. Patrick’s Day Programme of engagements in Germany, provided an opportunity to demonstrate the extensive collaborative research already being undertaken between researchers in Ireland and the Fraunhofer Institutes.  The engagement also exhibited the opportunities that exist for Ireland and Germany through deepened engagement between both communities.

The engagement was led by Dr Darrin Morrissey, SFI Director of Programmes and Investments and Dr. Johann Feckl, Director Presidential Staff at Fraunhofer with critical participation by leadership at Fraunhofer IAP, University College Dublin (UCD) and Dublin City University (DCU).
