This Science Week, Airfield Estate invites you to explore a sustainable food system, from soil to society! "Reimagining The Irish Food System: Creating Sustainable Cities and Communities" is a lively series of events and activities designed to get everyone thinking differently about food in Ireland. As a 38-acre regenerative farm in the heart of Dublin, Airfield Estate offers an exciting opportunity to explore and engage with the science of sustainable food production, from farm to fork.

Aligning with Science Week 2024’s theme of “Regeneration”, these events bring together scientific experts, food producers, and the public to explore fresh ideas for a more sustainable future. From tackling food waste to promoting local farming and protecting biodiversity, participants will dive into interesting discussions and fun activities. Throughout the week there will be a self-guided, cross-generational, and universally accessible paperless Sustainable Food Trail, offering opportunities to see, touch, and experience food production from the ground up. Airfield will also host three evening events which will include food demonstrations and panel discussions about food waste, fermentation, and diversifying your diet.

It’s all about sparking change and imagining a better food system for Ireland! Keep an eye on our website and social media for the full schedule of events.
