Lough Gur is one of Ireland’s most important archaeological and historic sites located in an area of great natural beauty.

The multimedia exhibition at the newly refurbished Heritage Centre interprets over 6,000 years of human habitation in Lough Gur from the Neolithic, Bronze Age, Iron age, Early Christian and Medieval periods right up to modern times. The area is rich in folklore and is also home to a wide variety of wildlife.

The site will introduce children to the wonders of astronomy, archaeology and environmental heritage through various preapproved DPSM activities.
