Imagine – a museum with no artefacts! Kids are learning differently these days and EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum is truly a museum for the digital age. Our exciting and engaging approach, supported by the latest digital technology, makes it the perfect place for your school to visit!

At EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, we explore the story of Irish emigration, uncovering the dramatic and inspiring stories of the Irish people who travelled the world, reliving some of their greatest achievements in music, literature, sport, politics, fashion, science and more!

Prepare to merge the past with the future and explore fascinating history with amazing new technology in our SFI accredited hands-on coding ‘TECHXIBIT’ workshop.

Digital technology has become one of the most powerful tools of our generation. ‘TECHXIBIT’ encourages students to combine STEM, Culture, and Heritage through a hands-on coding workshop linked to the new coding curriculum.

Suitable for both complete beginners and those who know their way around a keyboard, students will be guided step-by-step through the free software ‘Scratch’ to create their own mini-museum game, learning all about how digital technology can help to bring history to life in the process.

At the end of the workshop students will not only come away with a better understanding of computer science and a practical new skillset, but with a tangible outcome, as they can save, return to, and build upon their project time and time again.
