The aim of the Science with and for Society programme is to build effective cooperation between science and all members of society, to recruit new talent for science and to pair scientific excellence with social awareness and responsibility.
Societal Challenges form one of the major tenets of Horizon 2020 and the Science with and for Society programme will be instrumental in addressing these challenges through improving connectivity and building capacities in the research and innovation (R&I) system.
This programme aims to enhance the link between the R&I process and the values, needs and expectations of society in Europe. It encourages every member of society to work together to develop a more responsible approach to R&I, from researchers to policy makers, businesses to citizens.
Further information about the funding provided can be found in the work programme for 2016–2017.
