European Research Area (ERA)
In 2000, the European Union decided to create the European Research Area (ERA), a unified area which would enable seamless mobility of researchers, shared knowledge for social, business and policy purposes, support & coordination of the best research in Europe and the development of strong links with partners around the world.
SFI supports the initiatives taken to support the ERA. Some examples include:
- The EU Research Framework Programme (FP7)
- The ERA-net Scheme
- Research Infrastructures
- Joint Programming
