SFI Speakers for Schools
Science Foundation Ireland strongly encourages outreach by SFI funded researchers to advance public understanding of science & engineering. Visits by Principal Investigators, PhD Students or other members of their research teams to Primary and Secondary schools in order to give talks on their own research, on more general science & engineering topics, or on careers in science & engineering, are considered particularly valuable exercises that can have enormous impact on the next generation of Irish scientists and engineers. This webpage is intended to facilitate initial contact between Principal Investigators/PhD Students and teachers in schools.
Members of the following SFI Funded research groups are willing to come and talk to schools. To request a speaker to come to your school, please email the researchers directly. Please indicate details of the age group of the class you wish them to speak to and approximate dates and times that would be convenient. The researcher or member of their team will contact you by email to make any arrangements and check availability.
If you are an SFI PI and are interested in being listed on this webpage to indicate that you (or members of your group) are willing to visit local schools, please email outreach-at-sfi.ie with your contact details and possible titles/subjects of talks.
