Dr Clifford joined SFI as Associate Scientific Programme Officer in January 2008. Dr. Clifford joined SFI from the Hamilton Institute, NUI Maynooth, where he worked on communications networks. He focused on TCP over wireless networks, channel allocation in wireless networks, and link provisioning in wired networks. He was also involved with the Hamilton’s Maths Challenge to promote maths in secondary schools, and currently helps train secondary school students for the International Mathematical Olympiad.
Prior to the Hamilton Institute, Dr. Clifford conducted post-doctoral research at the Communications Network Research Institute in the Dublin Institute of Technology.
Dr. Clifford holds a BA (1997) in Mathematics from Trinity College Dublin and completed his PhD in Algebraic Combinatorics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2003.
